Jasper Hodges
Jasper was born in London and moved to South Yorkshire twenty years ago. Single until he was 44, Jasper met Tina- a divorced minister- at a church conference and an initial friendship quickly blossomed into marriage. He became an overnight step-father to two teenagers, a foster daughter and 17 years later is now a grandparent.
Originally training as a secondary school teacher, Jasper became a youth worker on an inner city estate. He has since served in Anglican parish ministry for over twenty years, most of which have been with young people living within the most deprived inner city areas in the country.
During this time, Jasper founded a charity called Potential Edge in Uganda which enabled young people to escape from poverty through the provision of vocational training.
Ten years ago, Jasper qualified as a John Maxwell Leadership and Life Coach and Human Behaviour Consultant to enable him to coach individuals inside and outside the church- and those facing relational challenges. He is just starting to train as a mental health coach.
Together with Tina, Jasper co-founded Eagles Rise International which operates in partnership with Eagles Restore CIC.
From their base - a converted historic church in Barnsley, the couple host visitors from all over the world who come for retreat, refreshment, relationship support, mentoring or spiritual direction.
Jasper is passionate about evangelism and discipleship and has worked with Tina to develop a three-level online Bible School. His first book Choose Life, will be released at the end of 2024. The book discusses the complex issues around same sex attraction from an orthodox biblical perspective.
Jasper enjoys recharging through exercise and spending time with family and friends, dancing and watching films.
